Iftekhar Shareef to Continue His Campaign to Promote Indian Culture Globally
The leading actors of Hyderabadi Film Industry presented their maiden 90-minute Grand Comedy and Musical Show, titled 'Hangama' on Tuesday, December 29th, 2015, 8:30 PM onwards at North Shore Banquet Hall, Devon Ave., Chicago. The event, which was charity-oriented, was presented by Iftekhar Shareef, a well-known Businessman and Community Leader in Chicago . Attended by over 500 eminent persons from different walks of life, without any entry fee, the event was a fully-packed Show.
Iftekhar Shareef said that his initiative to meet the entire expenditure of travel of the stars of Hyderabad Film Industry to Chicago and their boarding and lodging, including the presentation of the Show, was aimed at promoting the rich culture of Hyderabad globally. 'In the past too, I undertook similar efforts to give a push to other regional cultures. My efforts in this direction will continue unabated', he added.
Syed Mukarram of Chopal Restaurant and Community Leader, who spoke on the occasion, said that Hyderabadi Film Industry, even though only about 10 years old, has churned out a series of comedy blockbusters and gained popularity not only in Andhra Pradesh and different parts of India but also among the large Indian Diaspora in the Middle-East and the USA.
The Magical Comedy Show:
The Show, comprising a unique combination of funny gags, mimicry, stand-ups, etc. was laced with typical Hyderabadi-style comedy. However, each presentation, despite its hard-hitting punches, had a socially-relevant message. The Show not only made people laugh their heart out by making use of a heavy dose of satire and comedy but also attracted their attention to a number of sensitive societal issues.
In one of the hilarious skits, Mast Ali, a. k. a. Saleem Pheku, the king of comedy, who acted in over 20 films, and Aziz Naser, a. k. a. Jahangeer, with 15 films under his belt, essayed the roles of a Tourist and an Immigration Officer, respectively. The funny interactions between them, in which they try to fool each other, were the highlights of the Show. In another humorous skit, in which Mast Ali, Feroz Khan, and Aziz Naser play the roles of Inspector, Sub Inspector, and actor, respectively, demonstrated their extraordinary mimicry skills and took the audience on a non-stop laughter ride.
'The Show entertained the audience thoroughly, irrespective of their linguistic backgrounds, as the Hyderabadi Urdu, the lingua franca of the streets of Hyderabad, which is a unique mix of Urdu, Hindi, Telugu, and some Marathi, is widely understood across the Indian Subcontinent, including in Pakistan and Bangladesh', said Mast Ali.
'The Show was our tribute to the worth-emulating success of people of Hyderabad in the USA', said Aziz Naser. 'Hyderabad has been the capital of comedy for decades. And we are happy to note that the Show was greatly instrumental in further improving the relations among the people of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka', he added.
'There was so much humor in the Show that every other minute we had to slow down its pace to let the people laugh', said Feroz Khan, a successful Actor and Model.

This was followed by a wave of well known tracks, including 'Are diwano, mujhe pehchano', Hamein tumse pyaar kitna yeh hum nahi jaante', 'Kya khoob lagti ho badi sundar dikhti ho', etc. These stunning renditions, which were vivacious, bubbly, and full of energy, mesmerized the audience.
Mast Ali and Aziz Naser, to the pleasant surprise of the audience, sang a number of Bollywood hits and proved that they are second to none even in the domain of singing. Feroz Khan presented energetic dance performances to the electrifying tunes of Bollywood numbers. The group dance by all the artists added great value to the Show.
